Kazakhstan and Germany have shared plans to build a new center focused on sustainable farming in Central Asia. This center will be located at the Kazakh Research Institute of Agriculture and Plant Growing near Almaty. It will bring experts together to help farmers deal with major problems such as climate change, low rainfall, and difficult farming conditions.
The idea was discussed during the 18th Global Forum for Food and Agriculture in Berlin. Leaders from Germany and Central Asian countries talked about working together to make farming more eco-friendly. Their goal is to share knowledge, modern technology, and training that helps farmers grow more food while protecting nature.
The center will focus on practical solutions. These include saving water, improving soil health, choosing better crops, and using digital tools like AI to help farmers make smarter decisions. The work will be carried out through Kazakhstan’s National Agrarian Scientific and Educational Center so that farmers across the region can benefit.
At the forum, participants also discussed investing in green technology, digital farming tools, and organic agriculture. Kazakhstan hopes to attract German expertise and investment to strengthen its food supply chain and create new jobs. During the International Green Week expo, Kazakhstan showcased products from 20 local companies to build partnerships and promote sustainable, export-ready food products.
This partnership is important as climate change makes farming more challenging. With less rainfall and limited resources, projects like this help farms stay productive and protect the environment. By working together, Kazakhstan and Germany are showing how cooperation can lead to a more sustainable future for agriculture.
