A tragic accident has left wildlife lovers across India grieving the loss of Jaguar Kusha, a majestic 15-year-old male jaguar at Sri Venkateswara Zoological Park in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. Known for his playful and curious nature, Kusha met an untimely end when he became entangled in a tree branch inside his enclosure. Despite the swift intervention of the zoo staff, the big cat could not be saved and passed away due to complications from blood loss and breathing difficulties caused by the accident.
Kusha had been a star attraction since his arrival at the Tirupati zoo in 2013 from Hyderabad’s Nehru Zoological Park. For over a decade, he captivated visitors with his strength, agility, and lively personality, earning a special place in the hearts of both children and adults. Zoo authorities described him as a “magnificent creature” whose presence brought joy and fascination to everyone who had the chance to see him.
