Kathmandu-based Valley Group has received a sustainability certification from the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC) for its eco-friendly practices. The award was presented at the U.S. Soy Connext event in Washington D.C., where Baburaja Rawal, Managing Director of Valley Group, accepted the honor.

Jim Sutter, CEO of USSEC, along with other officials, recognized Valley Group for using the “Fed with Sustainable U.S. Soy” label. This shows the company’s commitment to sustainable business practices. Rawal, who has been with Valley Group since 2002, credited the achievement to his team’s hard work. “This award motivates us to keep providing healthier, fresher, and high-quality protein to consumers, improving health and happiness across Nepal,” he said.

Dr. Ashesh Bhattarai, USSEC’s country lead for Nepal, praised Valley Group for leading the way in promoting protein-rich foods and sustainable practices. Umesh Chandra Sapkota, Director at Global Agro Products, added that Valley Group’s focus on premium-quality food, great taste, and affordable prices has earned it this recognition.

Founded in 1984 by Shreekrishna Prasad Ghimire, Hari Krishna Rawal, and Sanubabu Bindukar, Valley Group has grown under Rawal’s leadership. The company, which includes Valley Cold Store, Valley Feed Industry, Valley Poultry, and Valley Pellet Feed, is ISO-certified. For over 40 years, Valley Cold Store has expanded its network to deliver fresher and healthier products directly from farms to customers.

This certification highlights Valley Group’s dedication to sustainability, quality, and health, making it a trusted name in Nepal’s food industry.
