Imagine if the food you eat every day could help protect the planet, keep you healthy, and still stay strong during tough times like climate change or global crises. That’s exactly what Sustainable Foods 2026 is all about. This event focuses on rethinking how we grow, produce, and share food. It will take place on January 28–29, 2026, at the Business Design Centre in London, bringing together people who truly care about building a better food system for everyone and for the Earth.
This isn’t just another food conference. It’s the fifth edition of an event that brings together bright minds from across Europe and beyond. More than 700 attendees from over 45 countries will be there, including leaders from farming, retail, food brands, technology, government, and health sectors. The goal is simple: turn big ideas into real actions that actually work in everyday life.
The event focuses on four key areas that make sustainability practical and achievable. First is health and nutrition, how can we make food that’s tasty, affordable, and better for our health? The discussions will look at reducing obesity, cutting down on ultra-processed foods, and encouraging diets that are good for both people and the planet.
Next is food security, which means making sure food supplies stay stable even when climate problems or global events cause disruption. Experts will share ideas on improving plant and animal farming so food systems stay strong during uncertain times. Another big focus is net zero, reducing pollution across the entire food supply chain, from farms to packaging. With rising climate pressure and higher costs for labour and animal care, the challenge is finding smart ways to go green without raising prices too much.
The final theme is regenerative agriculture, which is all about caring for the land. This includes better soil health, smarter use of resources, and more balanced farming methods. Real-life examples from farmers, businesses, and investors will show how these practices can work in the real world.
Several well-known voices will also be sharing their insights. Emma Pinchbeck from the UK’s Climate Change Committee believes we’re close to real solutions and says cutting farm emissions while supporting farmers is key. Ken Murphy, CEO of Tesco, highlights that shoppers want affordable, healthy, and planet-friendly food and retailers have a big role to play. Meanwhile, Henry Dimbleby, author of the UK National Food Strategy, warns that food, health, and climate issues are now central to business success, not optional extras.
Adding to the excitement, Dan Saladino from BBC Radio 4 will attend and turn the event into a special episode of The Food Programme, airing on February 6. With over 100 speakers, 50+ exhibitors, live discussions, tech showcases, and networking sessions, there’s plenty to learn and explore, covering everything from meat and dairy to grains, fruits, and plant-based foods.
At its heart, Sustainable Foods 2026 is about action and optimism. It’s not just about talking, it’s about finding real solutions to build food systems that are healthier, fairer, and more sustainable. By bringing together farmers, businesses, and decision-makers, this event aims to shape a future where everyone can enjoy good food without harming the planet. If sustainability matters to you, this is an event worth attending.
